Social Security Recommendations
The Social Security Administration (SSA) suggests that your Denver Social Security disability advocate send a fax inquiring about your case if have not received a Notice of Award within 45 days of the date of the favorable decision on your disability hearing.
If there is no response to the first fax after 45 days, send another one to the same fax number with a copy of the first one attached. If necessary, send a third one addressed to the Division Program Manager.
If you still have not been paid, your advocate may have to do one or more of the following:
- Discuss the case with a supervisor from the local SSA office. In some situations, the supervisor may be able to contact the payment center directly to expedite your payment.
- Directly contact the payment center responsible for your case.
- If all else fails, it may become necessary to contact local a congressman. Social Security disability issues arise so often that almost all Representatives and Senators have staff member who specializes in such matters.
